GUADELOUPE : To act for a bio-economic model for insular territories
The Directorate of the Environment, Development and Housing (D.E.A.L., in French), under the authority of the Prefet, is establishing a National Strategy for the Ecological Transition to REACH Sustainable Development (SNTEDD, in French). It became committed with the territorial actors and the civil society, together with the INRA Antilles-French Guyana, in the 52nd Congress of the Caribbean Food Crops Society (CFCS) held in Guadeloupe.
This Association promotes research, innovation and Caribbean practices in agroecology.
The issue is of paramount importance as world food security must be guaranteed, in the context of climate change. That is why new paths within materials coming from Nature are more and more considered central to deliver answers. The ambition of that international Congress then becomes to reconcile “agriculture and ecology”, agroecology and bio economy, which constitute prospective fields for our “Ministry of the Environment, of Energy and the Sea”. The D.E.A.L., is thinking about bio-origin materials (sugar cane fibers, coconuts and banana) used in a way to comply with regulatory rules and insulation in roof construction. It has also ordered a study to structure that material-processing activity.

GUADALUPE : Actuar para un modelo bio-económico de los territorios insulares
La Dirección del Ambiente, de la Planificación y del Alojamiento (D.E.A.L., en francés), bajo la autoridad del Prefet de Región, pone en marcha una Estrategia Nacional de Transición Ecológica hacia un Desarrollo Sostenible (SNTEDD por sus siglas en francés).
Se ha comprometido junto con los actores del territorio y la sociedad civil, junto a la INRA Antillas-Guyana Francesa en la celebración del Congreso 52 de la Caribbean Food Crops Society (CFCS), que tuvo lugar en Guadalupe. Esta asociación promueve la investigación, la innovación y prácticas caribeñas en agroecología.
El desafío es de importancia ya que se busca garantizar la seguridad alimentaria en el ámbito mundial, dentro del contexto del cambio climático. Por esta razón, los campos relacionados a materiales de origen biológico son considerados cada día más como elementos centrales de las repuestas. La ambición de este encuentro internacional es de conciliar “agricultura y ecología”, agroecología y bio- economía, campos prospectivos para nuestro “Ministerio del Ambiente, de la Energia y del Mar”. Por otro lado, la DEAL reflexiona sobre los materiales bio-provenientes (fibras de caña de azúcar, nueces de coco y banana) usados para responder a las exigencias reglamentarias y para uso en el aislamiento térmico en los techos dentro del campo de la construcción. También ha ordenado un estudio para estructurar el procesamiento de materiales.
